Our mission is to educate, support, and develop community among writers in Denver and Colorado.

Lighthouse Writers Workshop supports creative discovery and renewal by providing the highest quality writing workshops and writer services. In addition, our community building efforts--which include talks, events, and youth workshops--strive to give back to the community, allowing members to discover their innate creativity and their voice. Like all good writing workshops, the Lighthouse strives to be a safe place for one to work on understanding the self, to come to terms with one's own history and one's own story.

Lighthouse also supports living and working writers, offering them an alternative to the adjunct faculty revolving door. Lighthouse is a place where published writers can connect with one another and with their audience. It also provides, through our Writers Studio, and Writer's Buzz, an opportunity to market their work.

Another goal of Lighthouse is to develop a community of writers through workshops, services, and public events. We hold periodic public workshops and events; we also sponsor community involvement through our free newsletter, The Beacon, free "Writer's Buzz" talks, and occasional readings. By building such a community, the Lighthouse fosters new and meaningful relationships with fellow members and local writers, allowing them to speak the "truth"-whether it be the emotional truth of a story, essay, screenplay, play, or poem.
