Art of Narrative I and Art of Narrative II are designed for writers who want to explore some of the technical challenges involved in writing narrative fiction and nonfiction.
Each week we focus on a topic such as voice, pacing, dialogue, or the uses of summary narrative. The emphasis is on the sounds and rhythms that arise from the stylistic choices you make, so you'll have multiple opportunities to read aloud from your work--whether it's material generated from exercises or excerpts from a work in progress. You can also submit work to the group for more traditional workshopping, but that’s not mandatory.
Art of Narrative I and II can be taken in any order.
