Sometimes, it can take years to finish a short story. Master of the form Tobias Wolff finished one of his most well-known stories fifteen years after he began it. In this workshop, we'll speed up the process by drafting an entire short-story in a single day. Beginning with a blank page (and the encouragement of fellow writers) we'll write our way through the elements of every successful story: character, setting, conflict, complication, and resolution. Then we'll talk about how to revise each draft to bring out its own unique resonance, and where to send them when they're polished.
