The initial idea for a book, the appearance of characters and situations that shiny with possibility, is for every writer a creative high. But then comes the task of focusing and making your way to The End. In this workshop, we'll explore ways to envision the entire story—both before putting down a single word, and also after the writing is well underway—how to gather key images and actions, bits of dialogue and sensory details, how to recognize the larger significance of these organic details and use them to build resonance across the narrative arc. Novelist Karen Palmer leads the way.
