Announcing Story Fest Denver

Denver—October 2-4

Presenting Melissa Febos, Roxane Gay, Jeff VanderMeer, Lidia Yuknavitch, and more, Story Fest will be an astounding three days of storytelling through literature, music, film, dance, visual and performing arts. It is a collaborative community festival from Lighthouse Writers Workshop, the Denver Art Museum, Denver Public Library, and Clyfford Still Museum. Join us as we embark on three days of conversation-starting, community-building stories that will last infinitely longer.

Story Fest will feature on-stage interviews, dance and musical showcases, clips and conversations, walking museum tours, panel discussions, idea labs, live storytelling, hands-on workshops, and robust children’s programming. Where possible, activities will be complemented with a discussion, workshop, or reading. A book fair and organizational booths/tables will be available throughout, allowing attendees to purchase books, subscribe to upcoming Denver cultural events, and learn more about Story Fest's participants.

Events will take place at the arts complex at the Denver Art Museum, Denver Public Library, and Clyfford Still Museum, with additional venues yet to be announced. Venues will run concurrent programming throughout the weekend, all within walking distance of each other.

Story Fest will be open to the public, include both free and ticketed events, and feature many of Denver’s cultural arts organizations and groups. Our goal is to be as inclusive and interactive as possible. Denver is rich with artists and organizations that present a regular diet of great story experiences, and we’d like people to try them, develop an appetite for their effects, and resolve to pursue such opportunities throughout the year.
