Write Denver

Write Denver is a collaborative, community outreach program hosted by Lighthouse Writers Workshop. Write Denver's mission is to get people writing and to then share those words in surprising, joyful ways. We want everyone to know that their story counts and that it’s worthy of being shared, no matter who they are or where they come from.

Write Denver programs include:

  • Hard Times Writing Workshop at Denver Public Library, for writers experiencing homelessness or difficult times (find articles about the program at Denver Voice)
  • Workshops for refugees at Emily Griffith School, in collaboration with Picture Me Here (learn more here)
  • The Write Age writing workshops for seniors, in conjunction with Denver Parks (watch a short video about The Write Age)
  • Art installations, including parking signs around Denver (see 9 News coverage of the parking signs)

Write Denver brings its signature Poetrees and word tiles (Word on the Street) to local festivals and events. Visit writedenver.org for details on where we'll be next, and come say hello!
