Maggie Cooper came to Aevitas in 2018 from the world of of small presses, academic publishing, and literary journals. She holds a degree in English from Yale University, attended the Clarion Writers Workshop, and earned her MFA in fiction from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she served as an editor for The Greensboro Review.
Based in Boston, Maggie is actively seeking imaginative, genre-bending literary fiction; capacious historical novels; beautifully told queer stories; and smart, feminist romance. Her other loves include unclassifiable book projects, food and cookbooks, and work by writers traditionally underrepresented in mainstream publishing. For a further list of what she is seeking, as well as some of her favorite recent reads, see below.

- Genre-blending, imaginative, and precise literary fiction
- Crossover speculative fiction for readers of V.E. Schwab, Shelley Parker Chan, or Freya Marske
- Witty, quirky, and/or high-concept vacation reads & romance
- Books that are radically hopeful, even if they contain darkness or strife
- Graphic nonfiction and fiction for adults
- All kinds of stories by trans, genderqueer, and indigenous writers
