Amanda Rea's stories and essays are published or forthcoming in Harper's, One Story, American Short FictionFreeman’s, Electric Literature's Recommended Reading, Lit Hub, The Missouri Review, The Kenyon Review, The Sun, Indiana Review, Iowa Review, New South, and elsewhere. Her work has received a Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers Award, a Pushcart Prize, the William Peden Prize, and has been shortlisted for Best American Short Stories, among other honors. She has won fellowships from the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, the Institute of Creative Writing in Wisconsin, Jentel Artist Residency, Marble House Project, and Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts. She earned her MFA at the University of California-Irvine. She has taught writing at the University of California, Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Oakhill Correctional Facility, and elsewhere.
