John Cotter’s first novel Under the Small Lights was published in 2010 by Miami University Press. His recent work has appeared, or will soon, in Guernica, Indiana Review, Electric Literature, The Georgia Review, Catapult, The Literary Review, and Raritan. He's received honorable mention in both Best American Essays and Best American Horror. His own short fiction is regularly performed at Denver's Stories Onstage, and his comics occasionally show up in Westword. He graduated Emerson College's Creative Writing program on a Performing Arts scholarship and Harvard’s University. In 2018, he was given Lighthouse Writers' Beacon Award for Teaching Excellence.
