Marianne Manzler is the director of youth and community programs at Lighthouse. She is responsible for Lighthouse's tuition-based classes and programs for children and teens, including Young Author's Collective, Rainbow Room, summer camps and intensives, and supports the adult in-house programs Queer Creatives, Writing in Color, and Friday 500. Marianne Manzler is a writer, educator, and former U.S. Fulbright scholar from Ohio. She has designed and deployed creative writing, English language and literature, and humanities classes for middle school, high school, and college-aged writers across the United States, Southeast Asia, and Europe. At Lighthouse, she gets to collaborate with a team of brilliant teacher-writers and instill the power of reading and writing in youth across Denver. Marianne's writing has appeared in 5280, Fourth Genre, The Seventh Wave, among others, and her work has received financial support from Vermont Studio Center and Martha Vineyard's Institute for Creative Writing. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Washington, where she was supported by the Grace Milliman Pollock Fellowship. When out of the office, she loves trying her hand at gardening, cooking, DIY projects, and frolicking in the mountains with her pups.
