8-Week: Speculative Fiction Workshop

$325.00 Members
$355.00 Non-members

In this workshop, we’ll explore the realms of the irreal—finding the narrative possibilities that open up when we let go of our stranglehold on objective reality. We’ll look at examples of speculative fiction and discuss differences between surrealism, fantasy, fabulism, and magical realism. Finally, we’ll try our hands at our own forays out of realism and do deeper explorations for those already familiar with the genre.

Courtney is an amazing instructor who clearly loves teaching and knows speculative fiction very well. She addressed both conventional science fiction and the more radical speculative world in this class. Her deep understanding of imaginary worlds is inspiring and contagious.
