Half-Day Camp: Publishing Workroom Camp for Ages 14-18

In this camp, we’ll crack open the mysteries of how to get your work published online and/or in the pages of a printed literary magazine. Over the five days of this camp, writers will work closely with their instructor and each other to achieve two goals: (1) polish an existing piece so that it’s publication-ready and (2) develop a list of publications that are a good fit for their work. In addition, writers will prepare cover letters and develop the skills to research publications and their submission guidelines. They’ll also build easy spreadsheets to track their submissions and publications’ responses. Please note: writers must be at least 14 and have a complete draft of a short story, personal essay, or poem to attend this camp.
