We invite you to attend an evening celebrating a wide array of powerful and talented Denver writers. Join us for short readings by Franchesca Castillo, Diana Khoi Nguyen, Kathy Conde, and Lynette Vialet. Drinks and refreshments will be served at 6:30 PM, and the reading starts at 7:00 PM. This event is free and open to the public. You must register to attend. 


Franchesca Castillo (Young Writers Program) is a junior at Thornton High School. She likes to write, draw, play, and listen to music and is also the president of the Anime Club.

Diana Khoi Nguyen (Lighthouse Faculty) is currently a PhD candidate in creative writing at the University of Denver. A winner of the 92 Street Y's "Discovery" / Boston Review Poetry Contest, her poems appear in Poetry, American Poetry Review, PEN America, The Iowa Review, and elsewhere. Her first book, Ghost Of, is forthcoming from Omnidawn in April 2018. 

Kathy Conde (Community Outreach Program) has received awards from Salem International Literary Awards, Crab Orchard Review, Munster Literature Centre, and CutThroat: A Journal of the Arts, and has received fellowship and residency support from Millay Colony, Playa, Writing by Writers, and the Lighthouse Fort Lyon Writer-in-Residence Program. She has taught poetry in the schools and at a halfway house for teens at risk. She holds an MFA from Naropa University and is past fiction editor for Bombay Gin, Naropa’s Literary Magazine. 

Long-time Lighthouse member and recent Book Project graduate, Lynette Vialet is still completing her project, The Parentheses of Life, a nonfiction book that explores the medical, emotional, and ethical dilemmas of modern childbirth.
