Online Summer Writing Camp—Map Making as World Building for grades 6-8

$200.00 Members
$200.00 Non-members

A map can be as broad as continents on a planet or as specific as the contents of a school locker. No matter their size, maps can help us expand and understand our characters' worlds. We will look at a range of maps in literature and then create our own maps to take home. Also, everyone will have the chance to share and hear about how our classmates' maps influence the plot and characters in their stories. Writers of any and all genres are welcome to join us and no artistic background is required.

By registering your child for a workshop, you authorize Lighthouse to use your child’s writing and/or photo in future marketing and/or promotional materials, including electronic formats.

This camp will now be held virtually through Zoom. In addition to the two hours of camp time each day, each young writer will meet once through Zoom with the instructor during the week to discuss individual writing goals. Meeting times will be assigned on the first day of camp.
