Poetry gives us a bird's eye view of the world and also helps us see what flies and roosts around us. Drawing on the poetry about birds by Wallace Stevens, Sidney Wade, Linda Hull, Li-Young Lee, Joy Harjo, Linda Hogan, Stanley Plumley, William Stafford, Ada Limón, Rumi, and other poets, we'll take off into our own bird-infused poems. We’ll also look at what seems like an ancient and continual tradition of ornithological poetry and where our poems might flock and perch in a world of bird poetry. Come prepared to write two or three new poems together in this highly interactive workshop.
