The Writer's Studio Craft Talk with Michelle Tea: For and Against Memoir—Pitfalls and Rewards

$65.00 Members
$75.00 Non-members

In this workshop we'll discuss the terror and pleasure of memoir, using your own experience as the material for your writing process. We'll explore the charged terrain where our stories intersect with others, understand where and when it's okay to fudge the details, discuss notions of memoir writing as catharsis, narcissism, art, and compulsion. What are the spiritual dimensions of memoir and how do they help and hinder your emotional development? In addition to these deep thoughts we'll probe tricks and traps unique to the craft of memoir, setting you on a confident path to pen your own narrative, wherever you may be in that process.

Tickets for Tea's on-stage reading and conversation with Esmé Weijun Wang are available here. Discounted tickets are available for students, seniors, teachers, and veterans, and through our All-Access Pass.
