Writing in Color Retreat Intensive: Short Form - Fiction, Filmmaking, and Essays (Denver)

$325.00 Members
$325.00 Non-members

Short forms are often the place that writers go to experiment with voice, subject matter, POV, and more. In this class, as you create your own short forms — essays, short stories, one-act plays, and short films — we will look at the works of Tommy Orange, Bryan Washington, Carmen Maria Machado, and more, to guide us as we craft our own works-in-progress.

The workshop, led by instructor Manuel Aragon, will focus on the creation of new works or refinement of works-in-progress, specifically short stories, essays, short plays, or short films, connecting writers and their work to social movements and larger audiences, and amplifying narratives of often unheard and marginalized voices to build more equitable, just, and sustainable communities. This workshop will meet in person in Denver. Please familiarize yourself with our COVID-19 Safety Policy.

This class is part of the Writing in Color Retreat and is open to writers of all genres who also identify as people of color.
