Writing With Freedom for grades 3-8

$65.00 Members
$65.00 Non-members

In this workshop, we'll honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by looking at the ways we can find freedom through writing. Drawing on King’s essays and speeches, we’ll cross genre boundaries and let one form of art inspire another. We'll experiment, for example, with how a line of poetry might spark a short play or how a short story might arise out of a visual collage. Students will be given the opportunity to create original pieces of writing, in the genre of their choice, by combining and synthesizing various artistic forms. Bring an open mind and an active imagination!

By registering your child for a workshop, you authorize Lighthouse to use your child’s writing and/or photo in future marketing and/or promotional materials, including electronic formats.
