Events

    Lit Fest

Lit Fest is a two-week celebration of the art and craft of writing. There are weeklong and weekend workshops for advanced writers of fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and dramatic writing; additional weekend workshops for writers of various levels and genres; one-time seminars on particular topics; readings; salons; and parties galore.

    Visiting Authors Series

The Visiting Author Series brings recognized authors to Lighthouse to share their experience and advice, usually in the form of a two-hour craft talk followed by a reading and reception. Filter for "visiting authors" in the keyword box to see who's coming next.

    Inside the Writer's Studio

Several times a year, Lighthouse Writers Workshop brings nationally recognized authors to Denver for exciting on-stage interviews and in-depth craft seminars.

    Retreats

Lighthouse offers two annual summer writing retreats for members: Grand Lake, in the scenic mountain town of Grand Lake, Colorado; and the Writing in Color Retreat, a weekend specifically designed to welcome, celebrate, and amplify voices of writers of color.

    Readings and Parties

At Lighthouse, you're never far from a reading or a party, including The Reading Show, which celebrates the diverse talent in the Lighthouse community, featuring writers from our youth programs, community engagement programs, and members of our faculty; and our annual fundraiser, Casino Night.
