On April 25, at Su Teatro, Lighthouse held The Big Read Closing Party: Vagabond Happy Hour. This free event was part minstrel show, part mini-lecture, part art-show, part reading, and part shindig. Lighthouse and its collaborators had spent the past few months being inspired by Housekeeping, the nuanced and beautiful book by Marilynne Robinson.
At the Closing Party we celebrated and honored the winners of the Big Read photo and writing contests, and guests also enjoyed the creative work inspired by Housekeeping, which included films, poems, stories, paintings, sculpture, and more.
