Brissa Mendoza (she/her/hers) joined Lighthouse Writers Workshop in October of 2022 as an Administrative Associate. Since moving to Denver in 2020, she has worked at the Denver Botanic Gardens, Biennial of the Americas, and Vicki Myhren Gallery. Previously, she worked as an arts educator at various San Francisco Bay Area organizations. Brissa holds a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and Art History from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Art History at the University of Denver. Her current research interest is 20th-century American and Latin American art, focusing on abstract art made by women and people of color. She is passionate about making arts and culture institutions more diverse, accessible, and equitable spaces. Outside of the office, you can find Brissa binge-watching documentaries, roller skating, or visiting a new coffee shop.
