Toby is masterful at instruction, and his depth of knowledge about poetry is formidable; his ability to convey that knowledge is adept and he provides it generously; his class management ensures meaningful student participation without compromising delivery of full value is remarkable. Altman also provided extensive feedback both in written form and during class sessions; his reading materials were terrific as was his expertise about them--it was nothing short of amazing. Lighthouse excels at attracting great teachers, but Altman was truly exceptional.
