Online Summer Writing Camp—Make It Weird

$200.00 Members
$200.00 Non-members

Do you write weird stuff? Giant bees, peanut butter foxes, rose petal thunderstorms? If you do—or if you want to try it—come explore the weird though a genre called magical realism in which magic comes to life in our own real world. We’ll investigate magical realism in literature, then discover how it can enhance our own writing. You will leave the class with lots of weird scenes and at least one complete story. You will need the following supplies: lined paper, something to write with, colors of some kind (colored pencils, crayons, markers, etc), plain printer paper or card stock or white construction paper (it just needs to be white with nothing on it!), and scissors.

By registering your child for a workshop, you authorize Lighthouse to use your child’s writing and/or photo in future marketing and/or promotional materials, including electronic formats.

This camp will now be held virtually through Zoom. In addition to the two hours of camp time each day, each young writer will meet once through Zoom with the instructor during the week to discuss individual writing goals. Meeting times will be assigned on the first day of camp.
