Summer Writing Camp: Script It! for ages 11-13

In this screenwriting summer camp, we’ll develop your ideas into the scripted thing of your dreams: a movie, a tv show, a short film, a vlog, an animated script, to name a few. If you can think of it, you can write it! We’ll use “Pixar’s Rules of Storytelling” to give us a common vocabulary and we’ll explore some Pixar scripts, like Luca, Onward, WALL-E, and others. Then you’ll have the opportunity to try using—or breaking—these rules for your own short or long projects. Depending on script availability, we’ll also look at pages from half-hour cartoons, TV shows, shorts, and other movies. Writers will finish the camp with an understanding of storytelling for the screen, script formatting, and progress on their own projects.
