Swing on by Lighthouse at 4:30 PM, grab some coffee and cookies, or crack open a beer, find your favorite perch, and fire out your 500 words. Then at 5:30 PM, keep on writing or gather for discussions on craft, conversations with guest authors, or spontaneous group writing and sharing. The Friday 500 happens from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM every 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month.
Pick up a pencil and spark your creative interests in these informal writing sessions. With the help of a DAM instructor, try your hand at a new writing topic every month, while visiting various museum galleries. Meet on level 1 of the Hamilton Building on the fourth Tuesday of the month.
Writing the West
In collaboration with the American Museum of Western Art. Experience the West through the written word. Whether you’ve visited before or it’s your first time here, the collection will reveal its stories and symbols through informal writing sessions with guides from Lighthouse Writers Workshop. This program is one in a series of writing sessions offered monthly, with different topics and ideas to explore each time. We hope the writers that attend (both experienced and novice) will be inspired by the American West presented in the Collection. Tickets are $5, and attendance is capped. Be sure and reserve your spot today.
Every weekday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Lighthouse members are invited to write and relax and be inspired in the good vibes at Lighthouse. Just sign in at the front desk and find a comfortable seat anywhere on the first floor. There may be occasional classes and events going on in the afternoon, in which case, you're welcome to find a seat on the second floor or in the grotto. Private desk space in the attic, however, is reserved for Writerspace members. Guests are welcome to come and write with us once before joining.
Sign up monthly for comfortable weekday access to Lighthouse’s quiet and comfortable attic. Writerspace members can write, read, procrastinate, edit, focus, and research, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Includes desks, a library, coffee, a printer, and WiFi (if you really need it).
